Despite leaps and bounds in web design software and a wealth of available programs, vreating a good looking site is no mean feet and choosing the right software can be tricky.
Magix Website Maker 4 sets out to make website creation a quick and easy process. It uses a browser based building system, has plenty of templates and comes with a free .co.uk domain name. However, it creates the site in Flash which may make the site look great but is not much use if you want to have your website indexed and ranking in the major search engines.
That said, it is still a good package if you are new to web design and just want to showcase content sucha s photos, videos, music and images in an attractive site.
There are several templates to choose from and althoughsome are predictably cheesy others are good enough to make your site look like it has been created by a competent web designer.
The pre-designed elements are easy to control and drop content into. However, we would not relish putting together a site without using the templates. This software is more for piecing the elements together rather than starting from scratch.
So, if you are looking for design software to create a one off website to showcase your multimedia then this might be for you. If you are however looking for a website design software package that will perform well in the search engines then you wouldn’t go far wrong with XsitePro2.
